TOWN WITHOUT PITY

Graffiti on wall along side the river walking path

Three weeks and counting until the move. Hard to believe. And I am beginning to melt down. Don't want to work. Don't want to find a job in Ft. Wayne, at least not right now. I find that I have to concentrate and focus on the here and now. I would love to wave a magic wand and have the move, the turning over of the car, the establishing myself in a new town finished and behind me.

Nothing is that easy and I must wait it out.  There's no crying in baseball. (my bosses comment when I finally told him about the diaster last week...I did start crying).

Been looking and exploring the area. Found a lovely running path in the down town area at the Rivers Head Park. It extends out the eight miles to New Haven!

It gave me the much needed inspiration. And I took the first steps. In no time at all I will be running eight miles!

We will be moving about the same time.  We can cry on each others shoulders.  Did you get your house sold?

Good luck -- a tough 3 weeks ahead of you.

Mary---it's been so long since I had to make the same kind of changes you are looking forward to making in the next few weeks...  And how much easier is it to make those changes at thirty-something than at fifty-something?  Still, if anyone can do it, YOU can.  I feel for your struggle, but I believe in your strength.  Hang in there...  Lisa  :-]

I know moving and changing jobs is stressful. I am currently job hunting. I do know from your journal that if anyone can find the good places to go, the adventures in the new town it's you! You will do well wherever you are. :) Nelle

Here's hoping you like your new spot on this clay and granite planet.

I totally sympathize...when I moved from New England to NJ, I was in a very low place. I didn't know NJ at all and it really threw me.  I was frozen with self-doubt and lack of self confidence for months. Then I got a job with a temp agency. I figured I could see a variety of companies and get a feel for the NJ job market. Heh. I got hired by the second person I worked for as a temp.

I spent most of my younger years moving around as an Army brat, and I've always insisted it doesn't matter where you live, you take your family with you...but I know that I'm just saying that.  Moving is hard!  You'll get through it, it'll be okay...(((Mary)))...

Moving is so hard...both emotionally, and physically.
Hang in there...

Mary! When did you do your exploring? (Did you come to Fort Wayne again?)

The trail that runs from Headwaters Park is actually INCREASING. They just started work on it about ... six months ago ... to extend it (like you said) to and through New Haven. My soon-to-be-ex will be jogging along that trail, too. Who knows? Maybe the two of you will bump into each other one day.
