Nervous

I have a big job interview this afternoon. It is complicated. I accepted a position with a company and the very next day my OLD company calls and has a job opening they would like me to apply for.

Then....they call back and want to reschedule the appointment so the General Manager can sit in.

That is when I got nervous.

Even though the company is huge, it still is tight. I realize it is common knowledge what happened to me this summer. I think they want to make it right. I always was a good worker. Maybe I was a little bit of a slacker due to the many years I had on the job and the ability to know how to make things run smoothly. That gave me time to be  a slacker. That was squeezed out of me this summer.

I have been dragging my heels with the other position. I have a moral and ethical tug of war going on in my head. Yet, if XXX offers me the job I will do cartwheels.

This time when they ask me those hard questions  I will not take it so lightly. This is also what is making me nervous.

So...you hated the job you relocated to, but secretly you miss the security of your old company? LOL I hope they offer you this other job. (Secretly I wish my old company would offer to hire me back too.)

You will do fine. You have had practice at this now! Good luck!

I think your old company is afraid you are going to sue them......just a thought!

I am SO glad I am not in your shoes right now.  This kind of "employment intrigue" is what drove me OUT of the job market.  Good luck, Mar!  I hope, ultimately, you get exactly the right job with the right company.  Lisa  :-]

Mary, perhaps you will remember me--I'm the lady named Susan who wrote to you a few weeks back about miracles--anyhow, don't be nervous--nervous is living in New Orleans with no home, no car, no job, no food, no water, bad sewage and diseases everywhere and no where to go--just give it your best shot and hope for the best, Mary--pray first and that helps--just remember it will be a piece of cake, and you'll be where you are supposed to be at the right moment--take it from someone who worked for 30+ years and still would like to do do but cannot because of disability and age factor--you're only as old as you feel I guess--maybe it's time for you to change jobs--have you ever contemplated that idea and go into something new and different--have you ever thought about working in a hospital?? Most hospitals pay very well and they have unions to protect employees and they even offer money to send you back to school to learn new skills! Take care and you are in my thoughts--sending light again!

I hope the interview went well. Thats a tough one, on the other hand, it's still a good thing to have options. Take that nervousness and turn it into gut instinct and I'm sure you'll do what you think is right.

I don't think having free time during the work da makes you a slacker. I think it means you do the job so well that you exceed the efficiency expectations. You get paid for what you know, not just what you do.

I'd be lost without my afternnon nap.

Big decisions looming. Here's my take...when it comes to personal relationships we need to be honest , but we also need to look out for our own hearts. Do what's right for you...your former employer and your potential new employer will do the same.
