TOIL AND TROUBLE

I am distracted. From blogging. I can not find the time to slip into the local libraries and create a work of joy and passion. At one time I was able to do this  sales job with half my brain tied behind my back. Now I find the standards are higher, the pressure is more intense, the demands are non-ending.

The week flies by.

I am beginning to put the names with the faces. I am beginning to know who does what, who is on the fast track, who is a good worker, who is a complainer, who to avoid, who is bitchy, and who can get things done.

It is very different from the Center in Lexington. A lot of the differences are good and some are disappointing. That's life.

This week one of the Big Wigs is coming to our Center for a visit. He gets to ride with me. Oh joy. A year ago, I would have been in a panic. Now it is just an inconvenience because I have to clean my car, get totally organized for that day, and get my hair done.

One must impress in all ways possible.

Been there--done that--oh joy--don't miss it at all--only miss the people I worked with and some of the ups and none of the downs--hang in there--better days lie ahead and spring, let's hope is around the corner--we heard robins in Ohio in January (??)--today, though. it is 10 degrees in Ohio and just COLLLLLLDDDD!!!!!! BRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!  Try to get through it and RELAX after--take care and have a great day and a restful weekend--soak in a hot tub after your ordeal--Let us know how you make out--in my thoughts--sending light--

I find any new job takes time to get adjusted to. I bet in another six months you will be doing this with half your brain tied behind your back too. Miss your entries but I know what you're saying. It took me about four months to begin to feel comfortable at my present job. Take care.

Any new job drives people nuts. I know I looked at old notes when I was throwing stuff out that  I had from my last job and I laughed at the notes I thought back then were SO important.

I was beginning to wonder where you been hiding. Take your time, blog when you can but do not stay away for so long or I'll call the Marines. Goodluck with your new job and by all means, impress the boss, it can only lead to better things. http://journals.aol.com/dcmeyer420/DearDiary/

I am sure the person will be impressed with you and not your cleaned up car.   I have been reading and not making entries.    mark

I'm so glad to be reading you again.  I miss your intelligence when I one or the other of us isn't available.  I love the way you put words together.  Pennie

It's ironic that I have come from Lisa @ Coming To Terms and reading about the melancholy that comes from not having work to reading your entry about the demanding job. I can relate to both.  It is a blessing to be busy, but ....  I hope all of us can find some balance.
The Big Wig will be totally impressed.  How great to see your own personal growth in confidence.

I found that my work was taking my blogging time away, too...now that I'm on disability, I'm getting it back.  What a price to pay! LOL

Stressful schedules keep you focused; stress can enhance your output.
It helps to remember not to be over-awed at Big Wigs ... they are only other human beings ... I see that you've overcome your awe.
I really miss my travels as a trucker ... I get a sense of that travel on  your journal!

Ahh...you'll blow him away!  I am SO not worried about THAT! The other thing that is so super-cool about you is that you are able to pick out the Who's Who in OfficeLand.  I always sucked out loud at that stuff.  Fortunately, the ICU forgives lapses in work/professional etiquette (most of the time).
