She's Out

My Mom received a phone call this morning from Omega's Mother in Law telling her that they were on their way home.

The National Guard needed the hotel they were in and they were evacuated to the airport  in Baton Rouge and sent home.

My Mom was crying.  I started to cry.  I knew they would be okay.  I can not believe the horror going on in New Orleans. I am dumbfounded that we can not air lift in supplies to those poor starving, dehydrated and dying people at the Civic Center. It is making me ill.

Please open your hearts and wallets.

I donated. Here.

I'm glad to hear your family made it out.  I am relieved for you.  What a desperate situation down there in NO.  Its hard to believe that with all of our technology those people have to suffer like that.  Don't get me started.  But...good news for you Mary!

Am very happy that some good news about Omega has come thru.   So much bad news, it's difficult to comprehend.  Between the wrath of nature, inadequate planning for the disaster that was going to happen, and just about everything else, what will be learned?  mark

Oh, I'm so glad they are OK.  It's so hard to believe that this is going on in the United States - you'd think we'd be better at emergency response than some 3rd world nation, but I guess not! It's so scary!

Thanks for this post, Mary. I am emotionally devastated by this event. We are setting up shelters for them in our city.

Hooray!  I'm so glad everyone is alright. (I've been reading back to catch up....)

My alerts are full of the entries of writers who are concerned for loved ones, horrified by the situation, and confused by the lack of adequate response.  As I type I'm listening to a woman crying on NPR ~ she's a lone nurse in a small township, overwhelmed by the suffering and need.  This is just devastating.

I said a prayer the other day when you talked about your Sister and will now say one of joy for her. I'm glad they are on their way home. Those that remain still need our prayers and help. Not being a very religious man I hope someone is listening. I'm glad for you all. Bill.

So glad all is well with sis.  What a mess unfolding.  Little sis will have a few stories to tell, I'm sure.
