John Scalzi's Assignment

In answer to John Scalzi's challenge the following are 25 facts about Alpahwoman.

  1)    I was born in the same hospital as Mel Gibson in Peekskill, NY.

  2)    I was a champion swimmer in my youth.  I was a finalist in the state High            School backstroking event.

 3)    I have never been married. I think I may be one of those "quirkyalones."

 4)    I considered giving up Bridget for adoption before she was born.

 5)   I was taking calculus in college when I realized I had a real gift for math.             I never missed a question. I scored every point on the bonus questions..

 6)    I had a crush on my calculus teacher.

7)    I flunked out of Murray State University in 1972.

 8)    A week before finals at MSU, I took off for Arizona for two weeks.  No one           knew where I was.

9)    I have smoked on and off since I was 12.  (presently, have not had one since          June 2003).

10)  I am a day dreamer, time waster.

11)  I sold cars at one time in my life!

12)  I've been fired only once from a job.

13)   I talk too much.

15)   I have only two close girlfriends.  Both live in Florida.

16)   I am a huge procrastinator.

18)   I went to Catholic schools for 12 years.

19)   I was black balled out of a sorority

20)   Then I was asked to join a  fraternity as a Little Sister.  It was much more fun.

21)   I am neurotic.

22)   I lost the first love of my life. 26 years ago.  I have never gotten over it.

25)   I drink too much and say it's my Irish heritage.

#12.) Would that I could say the same!
#13.) Only when I've been doing #25...
#24.) This WAS me until I started going to the pool twice a week for water exercise!

And the math thing is TOTALLY beyond me.  I made it to high school Geometry, got decent grades, and quit there.  I'm not enough of a perfectionist to be good at math.

Great list, Mary!  Lisa  :-]

All sounds quite normal to me. It is always nice to learn more about someone. OK, you only have 75 more facts to go. I'll be waiting to learn more. My Regards, Bill.

I think your list might be the best I've read yet.. I can't even say why.  I think because I feel I knew so much less about you than I did before I read this list, so much less than I knew about some of the other writers I've been keeping up with.  Interesting.. I should definitely read you more often.  I never would have guessed that you're a big talker.  You seem so laid back, reserved.  I guess you just can't tell about a person from their writing.  #23.. does that mean I can throw something at you?  LoL  Shall we test it..  here, catch!!!  Ohhhh... you're gooood.  tehehe... :D

Wow, so much to learn about each other.  Really, you talk too much?  Never would've thought that.  This is great, such insight. Thanks Mary...math-wiz!  I'll bet your brother felt real bad after he chipped your tooth.  Geez - boys!  Any pics from your champion swimming days?  I'm with you on the winter legs! :)

Hi Mary. I found you, alphawoman! Thanks for your nice comment in my journal. Can you honestly say that you slept with Mel Gibson or was he not there when you were there?! You sound like a really naughty girl. LOL... Should I be scared of you during winter? (no. 24) LOL... Win =.)

Blackballed! Welcome to the Cafe, doll. You only need to do something to be banned from an organized group once in your life for membership. Now let's work on getting fired, it's not all that bad, believe you me. Then again, I force them to can me. I hate quitting, and would rather be told to stop. I'm not Irish btw, what's my excuse?
