Postcards from the Edge

I traveled the 50 some odd miles to Louisville yesterday and spent the afternoon with Bridget.  We went to the Cherokee Triangle Arts and Craft Show.  We ate lunch at a little cafe on Bardstown Rd.  We went to a book store on the corner where I found this pack of post cards.  I love post cards.  I mean, I  LOVE postcards!!! I collect them.

This one is from a set of 30 by Anne Taintor.  Vintage art work with a saucy twist.  Bridget and I were going through them at the restaurant, passing them back and forth and laughing way too loudly.

It was so calming to spend time alone with her.

Ooo, an arts and crafts fair. What fun. And I've been collecting postcards since I was a kid--I'd buy them on all our trips in case my photos didn't come out. I have them sorted by subject, mostly in postcard boxes.

And I love the postcard in the entry here. I have a notepad with that very one and a few others. I gave a calendar of her illos to a friend as a Christmas gift. I love them. :)

That postcard is too funny! Imaginary men are all I have time for these days, but I sure wouldn't mind one that's got some juice pumping through the veins. It's nice to hear that you got to spend time with Bridget. You make 50 miles sound like it's so far away. That's nothing here! :-) ---Robbie

Sounds as though you had a great time yesterday. I've seen those postcards posted by other journalers here and they are a riot! Apparently, Anne Taintor has quite a sense of humour.

Louisville has an amazing rebuilt Unitarian Church.  I think they preserved the facade and built a modern structure around it. I remember the light coming through the massive glass walls.  Really a neat place.

Invisible men  -- maybe like the men in cyberspace?  There but no bother  -- they don't smell bad, leave the toilet seat up, or drop their socks on the floor.
